Yay Ordination!

Here are some pictures from Terrel's ordination service this past Sunday! Special thanx to Ryan who let us borrow his camera to take some pictures. And also to our parents for making the trip up! God bless you all!

Obey Your Fast?

Ok, am I the only one who finds the Volkswagen "fast" just a little bit creepy? I mean, the scary music alone is enough to keep me up at night. I don't know about you, but this is one scaredy cat who'll be glad when that ad campaign is over!

Big Duh, People!?

Ok, so the big talk on the radio show I listen to in the morning is: "So why aren't people watching the Olympics this year?" I'll tell ya why--its because of the snotty, mean, negative announcers. For Pete's sake, people, lighten up. I mean, to listen to these people talk, there isn't an athelete out there who's worth a squat in a slicker. Tonight I was watching the ice dancing and the couple from Israel dared to skate to Bolereo, made famous by some iconic duo in the '84 Olymics (not by Ravel, mind you), and they did nothing but bad mouth them the WHOLE TIME! I couldn't even enjoy the dance they did do because of the whiney announcer!? What's with all the negativity, folks!? Let them be heroes--they managed to do what none of the rest of us has. They made it to the Olympics. Lighten up!

Ordination

This Sunday Terrel will be ordained at our church during the morning service. I am so very proud of him! We will also sing / play a duet that he arranged for horn and mezzo, "The Prayer." Two very special friends of mine sang that song at our wedding and then recorded it. I remember that the first time I heard their CD was during a visit to Baton Rouge while we were living in B-ham and looking for a job. I couldn't help but think how appropriate the words have always been as we have learned to be married and trust God as we learn what married life really is.

Please pray for our parents as they travel to be with us. Please pray for us as we accept the responsiblity of ministry. I consider Terrel's call as much my own as it is his because we are partners in this life and a team in ministry. We thank all of you friends out there who have supported us and encouraged us throughout seminary and our search for the place God had planned for us. I consider myself so very lucky to be married to a man who not only shares my passion for ministry, but also my love of music. Thank you, God, for being so faithful and so gracious!

"The Prayer"
I pray you'll be our eyes
And watch us where we go
And help us to be wise
In times when we don't know
Let this be our prayer
As we go our way
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your Grace
To a place where we'll be safe
La luce che tu dai (I pray we'll find your light)
Nel cuore restera (And hold it in our hearts)
A ricordarci che (When stars go out each night)
L'eterna stella sei
Nella mia preghiera (Let this be our prayer)
Quanta fede c'e (When shadows fill our day)
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe.
Sogniamo un mondo senza piu violenza
Un mondo di giustizia e di speranza
Ognuno dia la mano al suo vicino
Simbolo di pace e di fraternita
La forza che ci dai
We ask that life be kind(E'il desiderio che)
And watch us from above (Ognuno trovi amore)
We hope each soul will find (Intorno e dentro a se)
Another soul to love
Let this be our prayer
Just like every child
Needs to find a place,
Guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe (E la fede che)
Hai acceso in noi
Sento che ci salvera

Oops! She did it again!

Ok, I can't believe I'm about to break my recent blog silence with this particular subject, but...it is what it is.

So, Britney Spears Federline driving with her baby in her lap...horrible. Of, course. It's unsafe for the baby, blah blah blah. Anyone with an ounce of common sense knows that. (I can't believe I'm about to say this.) But, give the girl a break. There were, like, 20 crazed stalker photographers in her face and all she wanted to do was get away. Perhaps she just didn't want pictures of her baby being printed in mags all over the U.S. without her knowledge and permission. Maybe she just wanted to be left alone. So, she just jumped in her car and drove off. Should she have taken the time to buckle the kid into a safety seat--yes. Bad judgement call in a moment of frustration (especially considering that it was in front of 20 crazed photographers). It's not like she didn't have a car seat--she bought one weeks ago. We know this because there were, again, 20 crazed photographers documenting every nanosecond of her existence and they caught it on film. So, all I'm sayin' is: Photographers, get a life! Britney, now that you've got a car seat, get a clue. Everybody else (including E!), get over it. Like the poor misguieded girl said, "It is what it is."

In other news, that which happens a little closer to home, I think I've got a job locked up tight for next year. An elementary school here in G-ville has offered me a job, so its unofficially official that I'll be a music teacher next year.
